Motorsport Driver of the Year

Each year the Competition Secretary shall organise a Drivers Championship (driver of the year, or DOTY), that will consist of 1 event in each of the following motorsport disciplines, with the actual events that will count to be decided by the Competition Secretary:

  1. Motorkhana
  2. Supersprint
  3. Regularity
  4. Hill Climb
  5. Hay Mini Nationals Motorkhana

Points shall be awarded to each Club Member that partakes in the nominated events, with the winner awarded 100 points, second place 95 points, third place 92 points, 91, 90, and so on.

Only a Full Member of the Club shall be eligible to partake in the Drivers Championship.

At the discretion of the Competition Secretary before the start of the Drivers' Championship, the finishing order of the Supersprint event may be determined on the basis of a regularity points system. The procedure shall even the playing field (handicap) for competitors in slower vehicles.

The winner of the yearly Driver Championship will be the driver with the most points, after removing each driver’s worst round (that is, only the drivers best 4 performances will count towards the championship standings).

The 2025 DOTY follows the tried and true format of the last few years.

Round 1 will be the first Supersprint of the year on March 16th. This will be run as a regularity to give everybody an even chance and also an opportunity to practice prior to the Peter Hall 6-hour regularity on May 4th. Both events are at Mallala.

Round 2 is the Nissan Datsun Car Club Motorkhana on April 6th.

Round 3 is the Hay Motorkhana June 7- 8th.

Round 4 is Minis at the Hill, a Hillclimb at Collingrove on October 25th.

Round 5 is the Mallala Supersprint won by the fastest lap time on September 21st.

As noted above, everyone will drop their worst performing round.

2025 Hot Bricks Drivers Championship
