Mini's at the Hill
What: Collingrove Hillclimb – competitors race up a 750m narrow winding track, against the clock to get the best time. There is plenty of action, and it’s a good fun, family-friendly day.
The site is owned by the Sporting Car Club of SA (SCCSA). The hillclimb event on Oct 25 is being run by our friends at the Nissan Datsun Car Club (NDCC) who generously allow Minis to join them on the day.
This event is part of the Hot Bricks drivers championship. Click here for more information about Hot Bricks Motorsport Driver of the Year.
How to enter: Entries for existing motorsport licence holders will be via the Motorsport Australia portal. Come and try entries are available. The maximum number of entries across both clubs is 50.
Please ensure you read the supplementary regulations when you enter, as you may need to supply NDCC with further information.
For more information you can also look at the Nissan Datsun Car Club SA website > events. Scroll down the page until you see NDCC Hillclimb challenge 2025. [Nissan Datsun Car Club SA - Events & Meetings]
When: Saturday 25 October 2025. Gates open at 8am and the event will probably run until about 4pm.
Where: Collingrove Hillclimb Circuit, Mt McKenzie in the Barossa Valley about 7 km from Angaston (refer to map and information from the SCCSA website)
There is designated parking for spectators, but you are more than welcome to wander in and set up with the club. Just look for the Minis.
Cost: Entry fee for existing Motorsport Australia licence holders $110 (GST inclusive). Come and try entrants should contact NDCC. Free entry for Spectators.
What to bring: A canteen is normally open, but we suggest bringing drinks, a chair, shelter, hat, sunscreen etc.
How to view the action: There are lots of vantage points, like next to the starting line, up the hill, but please stay on the track as snakes have been sighted in the area.

Please read the conditions related to using the Driver Development Car before you book the car.
